Modestino Corio

My name is Graham Corio and I live in Harrow, a London Borough in the UK.

I believe my GGF was Modestino Corio (b.1843 Picinisco d.1922 Kensington) and his third wife was Adolorata Capocci (b.1863 Picinisco d.10/12/1921 Brentford). I know other Corios were in or near to Hammersmith, UK; Silvio Corio (b.C1875 Italy) married Clelia (b. C1881 Italy); Raffaelle Corio (b.C1826 Naples d.1888) married Loreta (b.C1828 Italy d.1919), perhaps had a sister Eleanor Demarco nee Corio (b.C1849 Italy) and had sons Nicolo Corio (b.1862 Italy d.1915) who in 1881 married Alice Tomes (b.C1863 d.1897) and Antonio Corio (b.C1868 Italy d.1939) in 1892 married Alice Louise Colley (b.1873). All died in the UK.
I have no idea if they were related.
Does anyone have any information on these, please?

Hi Graham

I saw your post on the site and thought I'd let you know that we have Corios also from Picinisco but not sure if there's a link. I have a Palomina Corio, born in1852 and died in 1927 in Glasgow. She married Gerardo Demarco, my great great grandfather. Her parents were Antonio Corio and Tomasina Capocci. I have no dates for them.

I think she had a sister that I'm aware of, Anna Vincenza who married another Corio, Lorenzo but one of the people you mention in the list may be the other siblings.

Hi Elaine

I had no idea there was a Corio connection to Scotland - this is all new to me! It certainly gives me more leads to follow.

I am unaware of the family connection at present but perhaps I'll get more information eventually, and be able to investigate it then.
