Hello

My ggg grandfather was Fulgenzio Marcantonio of Picinisco. He married Luigia Capocci, and as far as I know had three children - Lorenzo, born circa 1868, Maria Antonia and Restituta. Does anyone else know this family? I think Fulgenzio's father might have been called Fortunato.

Lorenzo married Maria Palombo, daughter of Giuseppe Palombo and Serafina Gizzi in Picinisco on 18 May 1889, before emigrating to Scotland.

I would love to hear from any cousins out there!

Thankyou Michel - you are a wonderful man! I have been stuck at Fulgenzio for a long time. His son Lorenzo is my great great grandfather. I am descended through Lorenzo's oldest surviving daughter Serafina, who was born in Scotland on July 19th 1892. She married Marco Forte in 1916. They had one child in 1917, my grandmother Jolanda who is, thank god, still with us. Jolanda married Serafino Fortunato Visocchi in 1936 and had two daughters and one son. Their son is my father. I was born in 1968 and have two sons.

If you would like I can send you a copy of all of Lorenzos descendants that I know about. There are a lot of us, and we are spread all over the world.

I am researching my husbands family name Riozzi.His grandma was Maria assunta Valente daughter of Giacinto Valente and Chiara Capocci married in Picinisco 24.7.1920 to Filippo Riozzi.His father(MY HUSBANDS GREAT GRANDFATHER) was Fillippe Riozzi who married Filomena Marcantonio in Picinisco ? date
Any connection i wonder?

Hi Julie

Unfortunately I don't know anything more about Luigia Capocci other than her name. She is right at the top of my tree - if you see what I mean - so I don't know the names of her parents, or any brothers or sisters she may have had. I do, however, have a Filomena Marcantonio. All I know about her is that I think her father was called Pietro, and she had at least seven brothers and sisters - Loreta, Domenico, Immacolata, Angelina, Francesco, Rosa and Giuseppe. Do any of those names seem familiar? I don't have any of your other names in my tree so far! No doubt they will be in there somewhere eventually! Other names up that side of my family from the immediate area of Picinisco are Palombo, Gizzi and Canini. Most of the rest of my family are from other villages in the Comino Valley - ie Atina, Belmonte Castello and Mortale. They came over to Scotland in the 1890s. When did yours come over?
